The project were created by second-year students as part of the course “Material for Product Design and Innovation” taught by Valentina Rognoli, professor of Politecnico di Milano, with the support of PhD candidates Yu Ziqian, Li Chengjun and Sofia Soledad Duarte Poblete.
The course provides an in-depth understanding of different material types, their properties, and historical evolution in design, while highlighting the connection between material characteristics, product performance, and user experience. Emphasis is placed on sustainability, circularity, and the role of material innovation in shaping environmentally responsible design solutions.
